The Portland Door Restoration Family

Introducing the Members of the Portland Door Restoration Family

Wayne Valzania – Founder & Guide

Wayne is a practicing woodworker and millwright who nurtures a team of talented and dedicated artists, fabricators and wood finishers in the restoration of doors and entrances that can be restored, and the replication of those that can’t. Working with the owners of historic places, be they historic in the sense of recognized importance in architectural history, or important as heirlooms worthy of preservation to the families who live in them, our work extends the functional longevity of what is often the first impression of a home and the welcoming portal to the folks living within.

Deb Murray – Craftswoman and artist, alchemist of fine wood finishes.

Deb is a builder of doors who contributes to all aspects of door restoration, design and fabrication. She is a deft finisher in wood coloration through staining, paint, and resins. Deb single handedly brought resin casting to a place of being an indispensable method in our restoration work. She is also an all-in participant in keeping the PDR doors open and the lights on

Bella Rielly – Artist, Apprentice Woodworker, and Furniture Maker.

Bella is our newest team member, having recently graduated from the Maine College of Art & Design. Her interests are woodworking, furniture making, and the creation of visual and functional art.
